This class will go over applications, vectorizing, and exporting to help you optimize for your projects here at MAKE. We STRONGLY recommend this class before taking our Laser, CNC, and Plasma cutting Badge classes!
Get a broad understanding of a well-equipped wood shop while learning safety and basics through practice. In this course, makers will begin with un-milled lumber and process it through various wood shop machines to get hands-on experience with multiple tools in the shop, resulting in a mini hat rack to take home with them!

Embark on the exciting journey of creating with metal. Get hands-on training on the many tools required for cutting, bending, shaping, grinding, drilling, and welding steel in the MAKE metal shop. Students will go through the various steps and techniques required to build their very own ornamental steel table.
This class introduces to the grains of wood as you learn the safe operation and techniques needed to turn wooden bowls on an electric lathe.
The wooden bowl is a reflection of both utility and beauty—an inspiring craft form to experience.
Sew a beanie hat made of knit fabric using a serger! Stretch and Knit fabrics have very different properties from standard fabrics; learn to work with them in the sewing shop, which includes learning the ins and outs of serger sewing machine use.
Cutting metal by hand can be exhausting, so why not learn how to make a robot do it for you? Take your metal work to the next level as you learn to process basic vector or CAD drawings into precision-cut steel designs with our CNC plasma cutter. This is a 2-day class, 10:00-13:00 each day.
