Every Friday night starting at 6 pm, we offer tours of MAKE Santa Fe! We’re like a gym, but with powerful tools instead of exercise equipment and skilled craftspeople instead of personal trainers. We invite you to get an up-close look at the many shops and disciplines we host, and get your questions about members, costs, and classes answered!
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at blacksmithing? Here’s a chance to learn the safety precautions, basic techniques, tools, and nomenclature to get you started.
Ceramics, one of the oldest and most captivating art forms, offers a unique blend of tactile, creative, and meditative experiences. If you want to express yourself, create functional items for your home, or want to explore a new medium, the Make Clay Ceramics studio is all you’ll need. Anyone can take this class, no experience required!
Casting metal is a 6,000-year-old process still used in manufacturing and fine art. The founder melts metal (usually aluminum, bronze, or cast iron) in a crucible, pours it into a mold, then removes the mold material or the casting once the metal has cooled and solidified. In our classes, beginners learn the safety associated with pouring 1800 degrees of molten metal, how to pack a sand mold, and how to pour liquid metal into the mold.
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll transform cotton clothing waste into pulp then into unique sheets of creativity.... View Article
This class will go over applications, vectorizing, and exporting to help you optimize for your projects here at MAKE. We STRONGLY recommend this class before taking our Laser, CNC, and Plasma cutting Badge classes!
Get a broad understanding of a well-equipped wood shop while learning safety and basics through practice. In this course, makers will begin with un-milled lumber and process it through various wood shop machines to get hands-on experience with multiple tools in the shop, resulting in a mini hat rack to take home with them!
Join us on the third Friday of each month for Open Forge, an opportunity to watch and learn the art and craft of Blacksmithing. Open Forge Fridays will include demonstrations, Q&A, and hands-on smithing! All are welcome!
