BADGE – Sewing Surger

*PREREQUISITE: Attendee must have Sewing Badge, or you are an experienced sewing machine operator with knowledge of stitch tension, stitch length, and threading a sewing machine.
Sew a beanie hat made of knit fabric! Stretch and Knit fabrics have very different properties from standard fabrics; learn to work with them in the sewing shop, which includes learning the ins and outs of serger sewing machine use. Besides sewing fabric, a serger sewing machine handles the seam sewing, edge finishing as well as trims away excess fabric.
Serger machines are not a replacement for regular sewing machines. There are some things it cannot do like, it cannot sew a regular hem or a regular straight stitch.

- Threading the serger machines properly
- Using a serger to finish seams and edges
- How to seam knits
- How to do a rolled hem
Please Note:
Students 16 years of age and up can be unaccompanied; ages 12-15 must have a guardian also enrolled in the class. Minors must have parental permission and signed waiver (ask us).
