Introduction to AI Image Creation using Playground AI

This course provides an introduction to the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) and its application to image creation using Playground AI. Students will learn how to use the platform’s user-friendly interface to create realistic images through hands-on assignments and projects.

Basic computer skills are required

No prior programming experience is required

Students need a Google account to sign in to Playground AI

Students are encouraged to bring their own computers in order to get more hands on time.

About the Instructor:

Marc Forlenza’s background is rather diverse: He grew up in Latin America, as the son of Expat parents. He lived in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Venezuela for 32 years. His professional career began with positions in Royal Dutch Shell, and Petroleos de Venezuela. He moved to the States in 1982 and was involved in real estate, and the hospitality business for several decades. Currently he is an interpreter at the Sky Center Suicide Prevention Program. He recently won 1st place in the Reporters 2023 Photo Contest in the Place Category.

His interest in photography led him to dive into Ai generated images when the technology became widely available last year. In the course he will emphasize that Ai generated images are not an end in themselves, but should be used to build on one’s own creativity, whether it’s painting, photography, wood or metal working, or product design, etc. Ai has helped me create and sell photographs and woodworking pieces.
