Intro to Bicycle Maintenance

Join us for our Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance Class. Led by Echo from REANIMATOR, this course will cover the fundamental techniques and skills necessary to keep your bicycle in top condition. Whether you’re a novice or have some experience, this class will provide valuable insights on the core fundamentals of Bicycle Maintenance – using the tools you might have around the house!
Who Should Enroll:
This course is designed for entry level cyclists looking to increase their understanding of bicycle maintenance in an inclusive, ego free environment. This ain’t your standard bike class – we’re here to chat about working with what you have, and bringing humor to troubleshooting this simple complex machine!
Course Goals:
- Learn how to inspect your bike for wear and tear and perform routine maintenance to keep it running smoothly.
- Cover the essentials of bicycle maintenance, including safety checks, tire inflation, and basic cleaning and lubrication
- Learn how to change a flat tire and repair punctures. We’ll also discuss wheel maintenance, including basic truing and spoke tensioning.
- Learn how to adjust your bike’s gears for smooth shifting and fine-tune your brakes for optimal stopping power.
- Discuss common issues such as cable tension and pad alignment and how to troubleshoot and fix them.

Students 16 years of age and up can be unaccompanied; ages 12-15 must have a guardian also enrolled in the class. Minors must have parental permission and signed waiver (ask us).
