Michael "Smokey" Sheppard

Kind of a classic hippie change-the-world-through-radical-education origin story. Came to Santa Fe during undergrad in the early '90s to co direct the Santa Fe Community School. Cut my teeth as a teacher at a handful of small alternative schools and then started Big Sky Learning in 1996 based on the MIT Robotics challenges. Grew that to a behemoth business and then cut loose the program side of things to focus on STEAM kit and software design. Currently providing kits for a handful of NM organizations and loving the vibe at Make Santa Fe.
