BUILD. CREATE. INVENT.

Hi {name},

The legislature is in session, and an exciting bill is on the table!

House Bill 8 could appropriate $67M to establish a Creative Industries Division in the state's Economic Development Department.

This level of investment in New Mexico's creative economy would be unprecedented, and notably, it could impact MAKE Santa Fe in a very good way. House Bill 8 would create a Creative Industries Division inside the Economic Development Department. This division would be responsible for the following:

  • Increase and promote creative industry-based economic development and tourism in New Mexico;
  • Support entrepreneurs and small businesses in creative industries;
  • Assist organizations that support creative industry companies and workers;
  • Support educational and workforce training initiatives that facilitate creative industry growth and success;
  • Identify and help establish public infrastructure to support creative industries;
  • Serve as an information clearinghouse by providing resources and opportunities to creative industry stakeholders; and
  • (7) act as a liaison between creative industries-related businesses and organizations.

Basically, this bill creates a creative industries fund and division. It makes it easier for Make Santa Fe to find and secure the funding necessary to operate.

Will you help by taking action to help get this bill passed?
