It’s an excellent entry point into CNC routing and digital fabrication, offering members a reliable platform for learning subtractive manufacturing and producing small-format parts.

This tool is commonly used for prototyping, sign-making, fixtures, templates, and detailed components that don’t require a full-size CNC router.

Materials & Tooling

  • Approved materials only (wood, plywood, MDF, plastics, soft metals)
  • Members must supply their own stock material and CNC bits.
  • Experimental materials require staff approval

If you are unsure whether a material is appropriate, ask staff before machining.

Safety & Responsibility

  • Follow all posted CNC safety procedures
  • Secure material properly before cutting
  • Never leave the machine unattended while running
  • Stop the job immediately if something sounds or behaves incorrectly
  • Report any tool issues to staff

Misuse or damage may result in suspension of tool access.

Cleanup Protocol

  • Remove all chips and debris
  • Leave the work area clean and ready for the next user

Cleanup is part of your reservation time.
