“Cage” – Bisque Only Blue Kiln

Used for firing ceramics at high temperatures to harden clay. This kiln is only for bisque firing and is not capable of glaze firing.

Booking Requirements:

• The temperature ranges of your clay and glaze must be approved by sending a photo of the packaging of the clay and glaze material you would like to use in your firing.
• Unless pre-approved, all glaze must be removed from the bottoms of all pieces going into the glaze kiln. You are responsible for providing appropriate kiln cookies or stilts underneath your pieces.
• It is your responsibility to load the kiln yourself. Make Santa Fe staff may be available to help if necessary.
• You are expected to grind and re-wash any glaze or clay drips on kiln shelves to restore them to their original condition. You will be charged an additional fee for kiln shelf damages and/or glaze drips.
• You must vacuum the kiln out and return it to its original condition.
