Plumbing Basics Workshop


Materials Fee $10

August 25th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Up your homeowner game or just become more self sufficient by learning the basics of DIY plumbing maintenance. Cover the basics for leak repair and working with plumbing related drywall issues while gaining an understanding of safely working with PVC, cast iron and copper.

What you’ll learn:

This class will introduce students to:

  • Basics of mechanical and supply plumbing
  • Make repairs to leaks
  • How to repair drywall
  • Safe handling of relevant materials and tools
  • Proper glueing of PVC plumbing
  • Repairing cast iron
  • How to solder copper
  • Peck line repair

Please note:
Workshop attendees will need to be properly outfitted to attend this course. This includes: closed toed shoes, a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and a way to secure long hair.

Safety equipment including protective glasses and hearing protection are provided by MAKE Santa Fe.

About the instructor:
David Grace has worked in the building trades for over a decade. Whether constructing new homes, remodeling or repairing existing spaces, he has always been fond of the creative challenges presented in plumbing. As a lifelong builder David continues to find fulfillment by sharing his wealth of knowledge with those eager to learn his craft.
