January 13th from 12:00pm to 4pm.
The gateway to working with metal at MAKE. Work your way through a variety of hand tools in our shop to learn safety as well as basic operation. This is a prerequisite course before taking the MIG Welding certification.
What you’ll learn:
Get hands on training on the many tools for cutting, bending, shaping, grinding, drilling, and sanding metal at MAKE. Angle and drum grinders, chop saws, and other basic hand tools will be used.
This class is a requirement for usage of the metal shop, and should be taken in conjunction with MIG Welding class to allow for full training in the metal shop. These courses are typically on the same day for easy scheduling.
No prior metal working experience is needed to participate. Proper attire is mandatory: closed toed leather boots, long sleeve shirt, long pants, and a way to tie back long hair, is a requirement.
Additional safety gear including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is provided by MAKE
