Jewelry Making Workshop – Wire Work

$30.00

Materials Fee$5

June 23rd from 12:30 to 2:30pm

Bend your brain around the tactile art of wire wrapping. Learn techniques to generate income by creating custom necklaces you can sell or give as gifts. Experience a bit of magic learning a craft in a couple of hours with countless customization choices.

With no limit to the variety of things you can adorn with the timeless craft of wire wrapping, we encourage you to bring your own beads to add to your piece. We’ll also have bead options on hand for you to choose from.

What you’ll learn:
Connect beads with wire including a clasp and jump ring to finish your own necklace. This is a technical craft requiring dexterous fingers and the ability to think in 3d.

Please note:
Students are encouraged to bring beads they desire to work with.  Glass, wood, metal, bone, all materials are welcome! Wire for the wrapping and tools are provided.

About the instructor:
Patricia Strout is an active participant, teacher, and volunteer at MAKE Santa Fe. She teaches several classes ranging from metal fabrication to jewelry making, and is a devoted advocate of our mission, as a volunteer metal shop coordinator.
