About Make Santa Fe
MAKE Santa Fe is a nonprofit makerspace where tools, creativity, and community come together. We support makers of all backgrounds by offering hands-on workshops and access to a wide variety of professional-grade tools.
About the Role
As a Makerspace Facilities Assistant, your mission is to help maintain a clean, safe, and functional creative space. You’ll play a key role in opening the space, assisting with classes, and supporting general upkeep across our studios. From tidying up to light maintenance and tool organization, your hands-on care helps our community thrive.
Responsibilities
Space Supervision & Member Support
- Open the facility and welcome members and class attendees
- Assist instructors with class setup, cleanup, and logistics
- Support member safety by monitoring use of shared studios
- Conduct basic space orientations for new members
- Complete daily opening/closing checklists
Facilities, Organization & Maintenance
- Perform regular cleaning and tidying of shared studios and shop areas
- Reorganize and restock supplies as needed
- Conduct basic tool and equipment checks; flag maintenance issues
- Support ongoing reorganization and studio improvement projects
- Assist with volunteer coordination for facilities tasks
What We’re Looking For
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and hands-on
- Comfortable around tools and creative spaces (training provided)
- Good communication and people skills
- Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs and move through shop spaces
- Bonus: Maker mindset, studio or shop experience
