I stumbled upon spoon carving in 2015 while waiting to get a random tattoo with a good friend. He pulled out a pocket knife and a rough spoon he was working on, and as an ex-professional childhood stick sharpener, my interest piqued and I was hooked. I carved as a hobbyist for a few years until moving to Sweden 5 years ago, and in an attempt to find purpose during long winters and difficulties finding work during the pandemic I decided to kick off SpoonDaddy Spoons, and I've been making and teaching the craft since. My partner and I just moved to Santa Fe, and are working on carving out a community in our new home. I'll be teaching carving workshops at Make and excited to jump into some new things!
