It’s that time again! Last year our Make & Take event was such a success we’re ready for round 2. For $20 you get an afternoon of crafty excitement for the whole family. Stop by one or all of our stations including the SMASH Bus, decorations made via laser and microcircuit, ugly sweater decoration, forged triangle dinner bells and paper ornaments.
The SMASH Bus will be at MAKE ready to teach your kiddos to make their own paper and festive goodies with their paper. If you haven’t seen the Smash Bus it is a mobile interactive art studio designed to create inclusive and accessible art-making opportunities for a variety of diverse communities that promote the resourceful use of locally collected found object materials.
Our members are preparing laser cut decorations to be assembled including snowflake garlands, cardboard mini-gingerbread houses, paper wreaths, decorative deer made of wood and more!
Need an ugly sweater for your company party this year? Make your own! Bring a sweater to decorate and we’ll have a station with our sewing instructor Jasmin Zorlu to properly ugly it up in the most festive of ways.
If you’re feeling more futuristic the inventor of the Lilypad Arduino and MAKE board member Leah Buechley will be guiding attendees through microcircuit decoration creation.
Blacksmithing instructor Patricia Strout will show you how to rustle up your very own triangle dinner bell on the forge and anvil.
Our friends at the Santa Fe Book Arts Group will be on hand to make holiday postcards, mail art, and paper cut ornaments incorporating the bits left over from wood cuts and 3D printers
To keep your creative spirit full of energy we’ll have a food truck on hand, local craft root beer, and coffee to keep you satisfied between your making adventures.
