James W. Johnson Joins MAKE Team as Executive Director

James brings a wealth of arts management, maker skills, and community connections to his new post. For the past 15 years, he’s worked for nonprofits and arts institutions in fundraising, marketing, and administrative management. James has long been an avid maker, specializing in metalwork, woodwork, and sculpture.

James is a very busy and efficient manager, and Make Santa Fe is incredibly excited to have the opportunity to tap into his energy and expertise. Alongside his MAKE duties, James oversees Mindshare Labs, a web and mobile application company specializing in web development for arts, education, and social justice organizations. He’s on the board at Santa Fe Playhouse, where he also designs theatrical sets. He continues to consult for organizations in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and beyond.

“I’m incredibly excited to bring my expertise to Make Santa Fe. This organization has been a great resource for me in my maker career, and I look forward to driving it into the future.”

In his new role, James will listen to faculty, volunteers, members, and our community partners about Make’s vision for the future. Drop by MAKE to meet our new team’s new chief.
