Women’s Woodshop Badge

Build skill, confidence, and community—just for women-identifying makers.
In this hands-on badge class you’ll start with raw lumber and leave with a custom mini hat/key/scarf rack—and the know-how to tackle your own shop projects safely.
What you’ll learn (and do):
- Square up rough boards: cut to length on the miter saw, joint flat faces, and plane to thickness
- Master the table saw for precise ripping and crosscuts
- Shape and finesse parts on the band saw, router table, drill press, and sanders
- Practice shop-safe habits, tool setup, and clean-up routines that make woodworking empowering and fun
Why a women-only session?
Because stepping into a new shop can feel different when you’re the only woman. This class is led by a female instructor in a supportive, judgement-free environment where questions are celebrated and mutual encouragement is the norm. All women, trans women, and non-binary folks comfortable in a women-centered space are warmly welcome.
Come prepared: closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a way to tie back long hair. We supply safety glasses and hearing protection (bring your own if you prefer).
Age & waivers: 16+ with guardian consent and a signed waiver for minors.
Leave with fresh skills, a finished project, and a new crew of shop sisters ready to cheer you on in your making journey.
