Bigger, better, faster, and back for another year! Power Tool Racing at Make Santa Fe is a blowout summer event you don’t want to miss.

Power Tool Racing is a unique motorsport in which modified power tools, such as drills and angle grinders, have been transformed into high-speed racing machines. The event will showcase these souped-up power tools as they race head-to-head on a specially designed power tool drag strip.

The Maker Olympics

In addition to the races, we’re also hosting the Maker Olympics. Attendees can compete in carnival-like games to win fun prizes and compete to be the top Maker Olympian!

Games Include:

Hammer Time!: Contestants compete to drive a nail into a board in as few blows and as fast as possible.
Size Does Matter: Contestants guess length to the nearest millimeter.
Scrapwood Basketball: Contestants have 60 seconds to sink as many pieces of scrap into a trashcan as possible.
Make the Cut: Contestants compete to be the fasts to cut a 4×4 post in half.
Screw It!: Contestants compete to screw in a 1 5/8” screw into a 2×4 using only a handheld screwdriver.
Tape Measure Fishing: Contestants compete to pull objects across a table using only a tape measure.
Mini Battle Bots: Contestants battle head-to-head to pop each other’s balloons.
