Introduction to Tool Sharpening
Introduction to Tool Sharpening

This Class is FREE for Members!
Before we open the grinders for our monthly Community Sharpening Night, spend an hour watching our instructors demonstrate how—and why—to keep your edges keen. We’ll walk through bevel angles, jig setup, grit progression, and safe grinder use while sharpening a variety of shop staples: lathe gouges, bench chisels, planer knives, leather-working blades, and more. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of proper technique and the role a sharp edge plays in accuracy, safety, and tool longevity.
Whether you’re a seasoned maker looking to refine your edges or a curious newcomer building good habits, this demo is the perfect warm-up for an evening of community sharpening. Come see how a keen edge elevates every project, meet fellow makers, and head home ready to keep your tools—and your creativity—running sharp.
