Fusion 360 for CNC is a hands-on, practical class focused on preparing parts for CNC milling using Autodesk Fusion 360. This class is designed for makers who want to move beyond design and into real-world fabrication by learning how to generate reliable, shop-ready toolpaths for CNC machines.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of Fusion 360’s Manufacturing workspace, including how to set up stock, define tools, create milling operations, and generate G-code suitable for CNC routers and mills. Emphasis is placed on understanding why settings matter—feeds and speeds, stepdowns, tool selection, and workholding—so students can confidently troubleshoot and adapt their workflows for different machines and materials.
This class focuses on 2.5D CNC milling workflows commonly used in wood, plastics, and soft metals, making it an ideal bridge between CAD design and hands-on CNC operation at Make Santa Fe.
