SolidWorks 3D Design

Interested in 3D design? Bring your ideas into reality with CAD! In this intro course, you will learn basic use of SolidWorks – a powerful and approachable CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. 

What You’ll Learn:

• Familiarization with user interface and key settings
• 2D sketcher functionality
• Basic 3D modeling (Extrudes, revolves, holes etc.)
• Intermediate 3D modeling (intersections, booleans, cylinder wraps)
• Tips + tricks / modeling best practices
• Exporting files for 3D printing and Rotary CNC, XCarve & Shopbot CNC (STL & DXF)

Please Note:

• No experience necessary, though we think 2D design – either our class or other programs, is handy to know beforehand
• The project for this class is modeling a totem that can then be taken to be carved our CNC machines or 3D printed (separate classes)
