Laser Cutting Badge

Get trained on our 30-watt Epilog Zing laser cutter AND our 150-watt Boss LS-3655 laser cutter. Learn how to personalize just about anything by etching and cutting material. Wood, ceramic, acrylic, paper, glass, you name it!

What you’ll learn:

In this certification workshop, attendees will learn how to configure the laser cutter properly, choose the correct materials for the tool, and learn general safety guidelines when using a laser.

Please note:

This class does not include file preparation or design elements necessary before using the laser cutter. MAKE does offer a course specific to file creation and preparation called File Preparation for Laser Cutting.

Students 16 years of age and up can be unaccompanied; ages 12-15 must have a guardian also enrolled in the class.  Minors must have parental permission and a signed waiver (ask us).

About the Instructor:

Patrick is a woodworker, carpenter, 3D printer, and all-around maker. Growing up in the shop with his dad, he has been building things from scratch since he was a kid. He likes to mix modern fabrication methods and materials with simple functional designs in his business Carbontree Custom. He is always looking for unique challenges and ways to learn more about his crafts.
