Bookmaking: Accordion Fold with Monoprint
January 20 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Bookmaking Accordion Fold with Mono-print gelli plate decorative papers
This is a great place to start if you are new to bookmaking, and great practice if you already make books. We will learn Hedi Kyle’s way of folding the accordion ( a very different approach to the magic of folding) and make TWO books in this workshop. One, basic accordion fold book with decorative papers cover and one sewn back-to-back accordion book. These can be journals to fill later or use the decorative papers inside that we create on the gelli-plate. Sure to be a satisfying time together!

- Basic Bookmaking Skills with FOLD and SEW
- The pamphlet stitch
- Basic Accordion fold AND Back to Back accordion construction
- Mono printing basics on the gelli plate with acrylic to make decorative papers
- Covering bookboard with decorative paper and attaching to book body
