Power Tool Racing is a unique motorsport in which modified power tools, such as drills and angle grinders, have been transformed into high-speed racing machines. The event will showcase these souped-up power tools as they race head-to-head on a specially designed power tool drag strip.

The Maker Olympics
In addition to the races, we’re also hosting the Maker Olympics. Attendees can compete in carnival-like games to win fun prizes and compete to be the top Maker Olympian!
Games Include:
- Board Sawthrough: Compete against the clock to saw through a 2×4.
- Nail Hammer: Compete to hammer in a nail with the fewest blows.
- Woodshop Basketball: Compete to sink the most scrap wood into a trash can from across the shop.
- Guess the length: Contestants guess the length of a rope; the closest wins!
- Mini Battlebots: Remote-controlled mini battle bots will compete in various best-of-three competitions.
- Screw Driver: Contestants drive a screw with just a hand-held screwdriver. Fastest wins!
- Sheet-good layout Challenge: Layout the cuts on a 4×8 sheet from a provided cut list.
- Speed Computer-Aided Drafting: Using Fusion360, be the fastest to draft a complex 2D part.
Make Santa Fe, a non-profit, will sell tickets that contestants will use to compete in the games. |
